inspired by kink bingo, gyubrikfest's bingo is a low-pressure challenge consisting of tropes/prompts designed to be flexible for all types of fanworks.after gyubrik fest begins on 7/16, simply fill in a board, tag us at @gyubrikfest, or use the #grgbingo hashtag for a retweet.no sign-up's required. no deadlines.what counts as 'fanwork'?fanarts and fanfictions primarily.however, fanedits centered around a prompt/trope also count. the square 'canon compliant' is an easy fill for non-au/compilation-style edits, for instance.ready to play?learn more here!

how to playthough rules are more lax for bingos, the same content limitations apply for bingo submissions as those listed here for ao3 prompt-fills, so be sure to refer to them before getting started.once you've read through those:1) choose between the 4x7 grids — from a choice of sfw (a and b versions), nsfw (18+ restrictions), and the grg-themed '747' mix.take note of two squares in particular:media-based = anything from existing media, film/tv/novel fusions etcfree space = any trope not otherwise listed in your chosen board, freely selected by youwhile existing boards are mod-randomised, customised prompts can be provided upon request.2) fill in squares to receive points. 1 square = 1 point. three squares = 4 points. bingos = 7 points.(there is no actual reward for racking up points, but we will exchange an unseen anecdote to the participant with most points as a small incentive. additionally, a friend is offering extra pc's!)3) tag @gyubrikfest or #grgbingo after completing a board. submit to the 'grgfest' collection if posting within the fest period or use in conjunction with an existing fest fill (optional).that's it!you can challenge yourself with another board once you've done your first, rinse and repeat.does it matter if i don't achieve a bingo?it doesn't. even if you only make use of one of the squares, we'll allow it as the event is just for fun! if it inspires you, go ahead and utilise the boards as you wish.that being said, you can try any of the traditional bingos if you want to challenge yourself: horizontal/diagonal/vertical/cross/corners, etc. otherwise, you can go for at least three randomly crossed out squares, or attempt more difficult challenge-specific G/R and 7/4 patterns. godspeed.

RULES

1. content restrictions: no pedophilia, rape, or bestiality. tag any/all potential content triggers outside of these correctly (you can refer to a list of common CW's as a guide.)

2. any rating / genre / length (for fic specifically): as long as the minimum wordcount meets 747 words.

3. no yujin rps: other background pairs welcome, including gyubrik's romantic/physical entanglements with others if your chosen tropes require it, but you must focus on gyuvin and ricky, as this is a gyubrik-centric bingo challenge.

4. no plagiarism: only submit your own work. we do not tolerate plagiarism or ai/chatgpt use of any kind and will remove your submission if discovered.

    DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP?sign-ups aren't necessary, and participation isn't binding.if you are a fic writer that has stumbled here first, looking for more varied, lengthier prompts than the ones provided by the bingo, you can sign up for the main fest event through this form.


    WHAT IF I SIGNED UP FOR GYUBRIKFEST'S MAIN FEST? CAN I STILL USE THE BINGO BOARDS TO CHECK OFF ANY TROPES I USED?    you can absolutely use the bingo boards in conjunction with any prompt-fills/self-prompts.


    IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR JOINING?    there is no deadline to join, but posting begins from july 16 onwards. while this format is being tested experimentally through the fest first, it is planned for long-term use even after the fest concludes. this is because our primary goal is to drive up and boost gyubrik fanworks, on top of encouraging fans to get involved with the fandom space and share what they've created.


    HOW DOES POSTING WORK EXACTLY?    pick a board, write/draw/edit a gyubrik-related work using the squares as inspiration, then post on twitter or in our AO3 collection and tag us (@gyubrikfest #grgbingo) in your work.

    DO I HAVE TO USE THE BINGO IF I WANT TO SUBMIT FANART?    this challenge is designed specifically for fanartist inclusion and was built around that, but you can browse the ao3 collection for inspiration if you want more options than the list of general tropes provided (fanartists don't have to worry about claimed prompts as fanart is a separate medium.)check this ask for more info.


    HOW DO I PROCEED WITH NSFW ART?    nsfw art posted on twitter (if any), while allowed, should be set to sensitive as a general caution. feel free to interpret the tropes and prompts on the nsfw board as you wish.if you want to mix sfw and nsfw prompts, you can send us a request to customise a board.


    I'M A FIC WRITER PLANNING TO USE THE BINGO CARDS, IS IT OKAY IF I ONLY POST A WIP?    wips are accepted. though we've maintained as a general rule of thumb that there should at least be an intent to finish said fic, the rules for bingo fics (that aren't connected to the main event) are much more lax as there is no true deadline, so to speak.


    CAN I POST ON ANON?    that is up to you. we will, however, ask if you wish for us to post a promotion tweet on your behalf — the same goes for private twitter accounts. outside of fic, we can also post a fanwork (art/edit) on your behalf, but we reserve the right to reject certain requests based on suitability.


    ARE SWITCH FANWORKS ALLOWED?    they are, as this is a 귭맄귭/gyubrikgyub bingo.


    I'M PARTICIPATING IN ANOTHER FEST/CHALLENGE, CAN I CROSSPOST?    we allow crossposts if you receive permission from the mods of other fests/challenges.


    I AM A WRITER, WHERE CAN I FIND HELP TO EDIT MY WORK?    put in a request for a beta reader on the @jbwfic discord server, where there is a specific channel for beta reading.
